Andrea Rogers: President / Producer

When I founded the company with Donnie over twenty years ago, I had no idea where it would take me. I just knew the world was full of people with great stories to tell and I wanted to be part of that.

I love helping people connect with each other – in person and through video. I enjoy seeing creative ideas develop through the synergy of a team, and I like helping people find new and effective ways to communicate.

My roles at Grass Roots Media involve producing, directing, client relations, and overall operations. I work on a wide range of projects including educational, marketing and promotional videos, and TV and radio commercials.

One of the best parts of my job is interviewing all sorts of interesting people and telling their stories in compelling ways. It’s important to me that the person on the other side of the camera feel relaxed and comfortable so their personality shines through.

I earned a BA in Classics with a minor in French from the University of Notre Dame, which took me to France for a year and gave me plenty of opportunities for intellectual growth. Those four years also laid a foundation for my later work on video projects with many colleges and universities.

While Grass Roots Media grew over the years, I focused on developing my creative and technical skills. Two decades later, I’m still learning and our company continues to grow.

No one does it alone, and I’m grateful to the talented team I’ve assembled here.

Donnie Rogers: VP of Technology / Senior Editor / Director of Photography

I love technology and I enjoy making it work for our clients in new ways. I’m involved in every phase of production and really enjoy seeing a project through all the stages, whether it’s shooting, producing, editing or animating.

I also love tackling challenges and that rush I get at the end of a project when it all comes together. I’m basically a problem solver who understands the value of teamwork.

In high school I found a home in Beyond Our Control, a student-produced TV show sponsored by WNDU-TV. Each week I took on the show’s technological challenges, which was perfect training for running Grass Roots Media.

While studying at IU South Bend, an internship led to a job at WNDU doing studio production and editing. I saw the direction the industry was going in the early 90s and embraced those new ways of doing video production by founding Grass Roots Media in 1992.

In 1993, Andrea and I researched many different non-linear systems before settling on Avid. (We were the first in our market to make this leap.) Today, I’m still often part of the testing team for products we use every day.

I’m always exploring new editing and effects software, compression technologies, cameras, and everything that keeps us leading the way. This is all toward the goal of getting our clients what they need now and what they’ll need in the future.

Angela Dilts: Office Manager

I have over 25 years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll and office management for many area businesses. I love organizing, budgeting and keeping things running smoothly. I’m also a bit of a perfectionist, but very patient.

Here at GRM, I manage our finances, oversee our building, and handle all the administrative details for the company. I love gathering all the data and presenting it in a way the helps the rest of the team see the full picture.

I’ve enjoyed volunteering with my church and in the community my whole life. It’s a big part of who I am and allows me to share my gifts with others.
